The 2025 Wise LMS Australian National Champs delivered a week of thrilling cricket, ending in a dramatic final that we’ll talk about for seasons. Held from 17–21 September at Runaway Bay on the Gold Coast, the tournament showcased the best of LMS Australia — and at the end of a phenomenal week, Sydney’s Western Swingers claimed the title.
Tournament Overview
With 43 teams qualifying via their performance in LMS competitions between 1 September 2024 and 1 September 2025, the Wise LMS Australian National Champs brought together squads from all over the country.
The event included Cup, Shield, and Plate competitions to ensure that teams eliminated early still had competitive matches to play.The prize on offer: a whopping $10,000 voucher toward the 2027 LMS World Champs.
The Final: Western Swingers vs Spider Monkeys
In what turned out to be a nail-biting last-ball thriller, Western Swingers edged out the Spider Monkeys by just 4 runs to defend the national title.
The match saw fierce competition right from the bat, and both sides produced moments of brilliance under pressure.
Victory in this showdown means, for the Swingers, it cements their reputation as one of the top LMS teams in Australia, and positions them well for international challenges ahead.
Standout Performances & Highlights

Wanderers (Ipswich) and The Bucheurs (Beaudesert) won each of the Shield and Plate competitions, with final victories against Blue Chakras (Sydney) and Tazz Markhors (Albury-Wodonga)

Very well played also to Rhys Longbottom (Best All Rounder), Adeel Hussain (Best Bowler), Akshay Narwal (Best Batsman) and Kurt Davidson (Best Keeper) who took out the individual awards
What’s Next
With the national champs wrapped, the Swingers have the opportunity to head into the 2027 World Champs.
For the wider LMS community, the Wise LMS Australian Champs reaffirmed the growth trajectory of the competition in Australia. The level of cricket, the rising competitive depth across teams and growth of a social community are all in evidence.
