There are currently over 230 Last Man Stands Legends across the world and each one of them have their own unique story.
Today we are in Johannesburg to meet Brandon ‘Scorpion’ Saunders!
Saunders loves Last Man Stands because it is the ‘perfect way to spend your day with mates while enjoying some cold drinks. Competitive cricket played is in a good spirit while having a jol (all non-South Africans may need to look this one up). Also, only having 6 fielders is handy as a batsman’
Favourite International Player: Heinrich Klaasen
Favourite LMS Player: Daniel ‘Hansie’ McCaughtry
Favourite LMS Ground: Wendywood Top
Saunders has two favourite moments from his LMS career: ‘The first is hitting Daniel ‘Hansie’ McCaughtry for a switch hit 6 and the second was scoring my first century’.
He recently played his 400th career match and has scored an impressive 14 000 runs which includes 164 50s, 77 30s and the above-mentioned century. What makes these numbers even more impressive is that he averages 64 and strikes at over 170!
It doesn’t end there, Saunders has claimed more than 320 wickets at an average of 23 and an impressive economy of just 5.8 runs per an over.
