AZ-Sports crowned World Champions 2013
Congratulations to AZ Sports who were crowned LMS World Champions after beating Team Manchester in a thriller at Lords.
Chasing 201 to win off 20 overs, AZ recovered from 0-1 off 1 ball as Ali Khan was brilliantly caught on the cover boundary by Team Manchester's captain Mo Ali. They reached 10 overs on 87, needing 114 from the final 10 overs. A brilliant 50 from Shahid Yousaf enabled the middle order to play with freedom, with Salmin Qadir taking just 6 balls to reach 24.
However Team Manchester continued to take wickets and with 20 needed off the last 3 overs, Team Manchester needed 3 more wickets to win. A couple of dot balls where followed by 2 boundaries and the equation now stood at 8 off 2 overs. Mo Ali then bowled Ahman Khwaja which brought Shahid Yousaf back to the crease at the non strikers end. Najaf Shah batting at 8 stole the strike going into the last over with AZ needing 4 off the final over.
