£2500 Prize if UK club side wins UK champs !
The accelerated growth of Twenty 20 cricket globally has provided cricketing authorities and clubs with a great way to widen the network of people playing and supporting the wonderful game of cricket. Entering your club team in a Last Man Stands T20 league has many benefits including helping your club attract talented players (eg antipodeans that have not signed up to cricket clubs yet) to play competitive cricket for your club on Saturdays. (LMS cricket is only played on Sundays and weeknights). The Last Man Stands concept is aimed at the amateur cricket player and the focus is to provide a format that ensures all players are more actively involved with bat, ball and in the field. Last Man Stands is a great way for clubs to integrate a mixture of youngsters, past players, new players, first team players and second and third teams players into the same team.
The clubs sides below have signed up for Last Man Stands cricket leagues in 2008 and will have the added benefit of giving their club exposure to many talented cricketers (majority not registered for clubs as yet) playing in our leagues :
Putney CC If one of the above club sides should upset the form book and put a stop to the antipodean teams stranglehold over this competition then LMS will add 500 pounds bonus to the 2000 pounds cash prize, making the total prize money £2500.
For more details about the concept Click Here - In our opinion the normal 11 a side Twenty 20 cricket concept is more suited to professionals and established first team club players. Please note our leagues are on weeknights and Sundays to avoid disrupting or interfering with county league structures.
