National Champs Team Qualification Rule 1
All Teams entering must have completed at least 5 LMS games in an Australian competition between 1st September 2024 and 1st September 2025. All teams entering will also only be accepted if they are primarily an Australian-based LMS side.

National Champs Team Qualification Rule 2
National Champs Teams may have a squad of between 8 and 12 players. A maximum of 4 players who qualify under National Champs Player Qualification Rule 2 are allowed in the squad. All remaining players must qualify under National Champs Player Qualification Rule 1.

National Champs Team Qualification Rule 3
If a team is unable to get 8 players in their squad, they may apply to the Tournament Organiser for a ‘Ringer’. The Tournament Organiser will have the final say on approval of players and/or help source players. Any approved ‘Ringers’ must bat last in the order, ‘retire’ on reaching 30 runs and they can only bowl a maximum of 2 overs.
Note that a ‘ringer’ may end up with a score well over 30 with their last scoring shot (for example a ‘ringer’ could be on 29* and then hit a home run off the last ball to finish on 41). But as soon as the ‘ringer’ reaches or pass 30 runs (even on a wide/no ball) they must retire under all circumstances, even if they are the last man standing.

** Note that these ‘ringer’ rules are in place to assist sides struggling with numbers to still fill a team, while minimising the chances of a ‘ringer’ having a major influence on a match result.**

National Champs Player Qualification Rule 1
To play at a National Champs, a player must have played a minimum of 3 games for that side between 1st September 2024 and 1st September 2025. Note that these games need to have been played on two or more separate days– i.e. a player cannot play 3 games on one day to qualify for a team.

National Champs Player Qualification Rule 2
A player may also qualify to play at a National Champs if they have played 10 career games for the team. A maximum of 4 players who qualify under National Champs Player Qualification Rule 2 are allowed in the squad. All remaining players must qualify under National Champs Player Qualification Rule 1.

National Champs Player Qualification Rule 3
A player is only allowed to represent one team at each National Champs. If a player meets the eligibility criteria for more than one team, they must choose which team they want to play for. A player may fill in for another team that is short a player at the tournament only if they have been approved as a ringer, and with the associated 'ringer restrictions' (please see 'National Champs Team Qualification Rule 3' for details on 'ringer restrictions').

Shield & Plate Competitions - Sub Rule:
Up to two players from another team (i.e. outside of a team’s initial tournament squad list) may be used by teams in the shield or plate competitions to replace players leaving the tournament early, but these ‘sub’ players must bat last in the order, ‘retire’ on reaching 30 runs (whereupon they will not be allowed to return to bat) and they can only bowl a maximum of 2 overs. Note that these players can also only play for one team in the Shield or Plate Competition.

The Australia Champs is open to any LMS team that meets the team criteria (regardless of whether they are regional champions or not).

The team entry for a non-regional champion team is $2,000 including GST (regardless of the number of players in the squad up to a maximum of 12). This entry fee covers the following:

- All tournament match fees (up to 7 games)
- $400 LMS Shop voucher (valid for Australia Champs branded apparel at shop.lastmanstands.com and sent out to teams in early July for orders that month))
- Spots allocated on a first-come-first-served basis

Regional champions receive FREE ENTRY, but will need to pay $400 (including GST) to secure their entry. However, this $400 entry fee will cover a $400 LMS Shop voucher (valid for Australia Champs branded apparel at shop.lastmanstands.com and ordered in July 2025). The cost of the champions’ team entries are subsidised, but an entry fee needs to be applied to ensure that champion teams have committed to entering the tournament, and that they are properly attired at each tournament, due to issues at past tournaments.

Note that tournament entry includes all tournament costs (Fields, umpires, medals, trophies, balls - basically everything LMS) as well as the LMS Shop voucher for uniforms). Entry payments are non-refundable, even in the event of a tournament washout (see Terms & Conditions for further information).

Spots are allocated on a first come first served basis so secure your spot by paying either a $400 entry deposit (or regional champions entry fee), or your team’s full $2000 entry fee ASAP to the following bank account:

Please email [email protected] with any other queries you may have.

3.) PLAYER ELIGIBILITY
Players involved in the Australia Champs must meet one of the following criteria:

- Have played at least 3 games for the participating team 1st September 2024 and 1st September 2025. Note that these games need to have been played on two or more separate days– i.e. a player cannot play 3 games on one day to qualify for a team. - OR have played at least 10 career games for the participating team. This is referred to as ‘National Champs Player Qualification Rule 2’. Note that a maximum of 4 players in a team’s squad can qualify by this method, the remainder having to qualify through ‘National Champs Player Qualification Rule 1’ (see above).

If a team is not able to fulfil the above criteria, they must request special dispensation pre-tournament for an extra player to be involved by email to the tournament organisers at [email protected] See the ‘ringer’ information above under National Champs Team Qualification Rule 3 for more details on restrictions on such players.

Please note: Players need to have received stats and must be registered for the team for the above to apply. If the player in question played a game but did not receive stats for that game because he was not registered then this will not count as a game for the purpose of the qualification criteria above. It is up the team organiser to ensure that all their team/players meet the tournament qualification criteria.

Also, please note that players may only play for one team during the Australia Champs. In case of injuries, a substitute fielder (not added into the original playing 8 for the fixture in question) may be used, but this substitute will not be allowed to bat, bowl or keep wicket.
