FAQ
1) How are Team World Rankings points calculated ?
Each league is allocated a difficulty level. Therefore a win in a strong league gets more world ranking points that a win in a weaker league.
Last Man Stands Software allocates points according to the table below :
Champions league Level - (15 points for a win and 10 points for a loss) + net run rate for match.
Level 1 - (10 points for a win and minus 1 for a loss) + net run rate for match.
Level 2 - (8 points for a win and minus 1 for a loss) + net run rate for match.
Level 3 - (6 points for a win and minus 1 for a loss) + net run rate for match.
Level 4 - (4 points for a win and minus 1 for a loss) + net run rate for match.
Level 5 - (2 points for a win and minus 1 for a loss) + net run rate for match.
In summary the Last Man Stands Software takes the last 12 performances (this may be over two or three seasons) into account. It then looks at strength of league. It then sums up the last 12 scores (according the the above table) and divides by 12. Remember that if you lose a game you get minus 1 + net run rate (which will of course make the score for that game more negative). So every time you lose a game it hurts your ranking. A strong team in a weaker league (eg level 3) may think its unfair that they only get 6 points for a win. But the league is weaker so you have a chance of winning with a very high net run rate. This net run rate gets added to the points score for the game so your team still has the chance of picking up a double figure points score for the game. So if your team is new to the league and firing away on all cylinders remember that it takes 12 games before you get judged on equal level as teams that have been playing for a few seasons.
You will notice that the Champions league is much more forgiving for a loss. Champions league is knock out format so if you lose one game you are out but we still like to reward teams who have qualified for champions league as oppossed to giving them a negative points score for a game.
