Cricket Testimonials

Marc Jury (Hansies Streaking Punters) via email 11/09/07 after winning the 2007 London Champions League and 1000 pounds

"Just a further note to say thanks to the Lastmanstands crew for organising an absolute ripper of a cricket season. It’s an awesome concept and I hope that it continues to grow from strength to strength. I cant begin to explain how much fun we had ! "

Dave Ellis Regents Park Community Sports Development Officer via email:29/09/08

Lastmanstands have recently completed their third season in Regent’s Park in Central London. The number of teams competing in LMS leagues in Regent’s Park has gradually increased and in 2008 numbered 63 with over 800 players involved. The leagues offer cricketers the chance to play in structured, competitive matches officiated and organised by a well run company. I have worked closely with Ross and Wayne to develop the Lastmanstands leagues in Regent’s Park and found them to be professional and personable at all times. I would have no doubts in recommending LMS to other Parks and open spaces.”

Neil McKenzie current South African Test Cricketer interviewed on Inside Edge (Supersport) at the Launch of Last Man Stands in South Africa

”The game is great fun & very social! Lasts about 2 hours so still leaves plenty of time for guys to spend with their families.” **

Bobby Skinstad former Springbok Rugby Player via email: 15/08/06

"Last Man Stands organised 3 games of cricket for my 30th birthday. It was fantastic! All my mates played, and enjoyed the day. Even the rugby boys!"

Murray Heyns (MFP) via email 5/12/07

"Awesome league."

HD Ackerman former South African Test Cricketer interviewed on Inside Edge (Supersport) at the Launch of Last Man Stands in South Africa

“It’s a great concept. I hear it is very successful overseas and let’s hope it takes off here in South Africa.”

Justin Ontong interviewed on Inside Edge (Supersport) at the Launch of Last Man Stands in South Africa

“Last Man Stands is the way to go, everybody gets involved, it improves the skill levels. Its also great for the spectators to see the boundaries.”

Juan Geyser via email:11/13/06

Laura Jewiss Veolia Services - Barnes Booking via email:15/09/08

I have been dealing with Last Man Stands Cricket from May 07 to September 08 through Ross Cawood, who is their league manager. I have found them to be very efficient and prompt in payments and bookings. I would therefore recommend them and take further bookings in the near future.

Bradley Speers (Battersea Park Capt) via email:15/05/08

It was great fun last night, even though we got a bit of a towelling. The ground and pitch were both good.

Matt Smith (Regents Park Sunday Capt) via email:11/06/08

Hows it going? Am loving the cricket so far this summer, LMS is great.

Simon Wright (Regents Park Sunday Capt) via email:28/07/08

I'd like to say that my team has really enjoyed playing in this league and we continue to look forward to the upcoming fixtures. It has been competitive and fun and I would recommend the league to anyone that asked my opinion. I'm just writing this mail to you so that you have some feedback on our experiences. Being the organiser of the competition, I hope you welcome such mails. Best Regards

Brendan Doig (Auckland Mid Week League, Richard Turner 11) via email 20/11/08

Great stuff, well done with the Rock! We are promoting the hell out of LMS also, people are pumped.

Chris Dommett (Dubai League) Via email 25/11/08

With opportunities to play decent cricket in Dubai so limited at the moment, this tournament has breathed life back into many people who were getting fed up shopping or brunching every Friday. Even the groupies seem to be loving it, and enjoy the "village green" atmosphere around the pitch. All we need now is a thatched pub! I think between the 3 Darjeeling teams we have a total of over 40 players who are actively involved, and this is more than we had when we had our own ground and clubhouse, so I think that says a lot for the overall desire for cricket here. Who knows what next year will bring in terms of the availability of pitches, but we would certainly be keen to participate in a competition next year.

The league is great fun and well organised! We were more competitive last night but leaked too many runs through mis-fields. We'll get a win soon.
